Share
This elevated pizza brings together a crispy artisan crust, rich pizza sauce, and a luxurious finish of truffle balsamic glaze — simple enough for a weeknight, impressive enough for company.
What You'll Need
- Italian "00" Pizza Crust Kit — makes one 12" pizza
- Pizza Sauce — 3–4 tablespoons
- Truffle Flavored Balsamic Glaze — 1–2 teaspoons, for finishing
- Fresh mozzarella — 4 oz, torn
- Fresh basil — a handful
- Flaky sea salt — to taste
Instructions
- Make the dough. Prepare the Italian "00" Pizza Crust Kit according to package directions. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat. Heat your oven to 500°F (or as high as it goes). If you have a pizza stone or steel, place it in the oven now.
- Shape. Stretch the dough into a 12" round on a lightly floured surface.
- Sauce. Spread a thin, even layer of Pizza Sauce across the dough, leaving a 1" border for the crust.
- Top. Scatter torn mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
- Bake. Slide onto your stone or a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 8–10 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling with light char spots.
- Finish. Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with Truffle Flavored Balsamic Glaze. Top with fresh basil and a pinch of flaky salt.
- Slice and serve. Let rest 2 minutes before cutting.
Tips
- A light drizzle of the balsamic glaze goes a long way — its truffle flavor is rich and concentrated.
- Try it on a white garlic base instead of pizza sauce to let the glaze really shine.
- Add prosciutto or arugula after baking for an extra layer of flavor.
