Hot Honey BBQ Chicken with Sweet Honey Cornbread

Hot Honey BBQ Chicken with Sweet Honey Cornbread

Summer grilling just got a serious upgrade. This recipe layers bold, smoky flavor at every step — starting with a generous dry rub, a sticky bourbon mustard glaze, and a final drizzle of fiery sweet hot honey that caramelizes beautifully over the heat. Paired with a skillet of sweet honey cornbread, this is the kind of meal that brings everyone to the table.

What You'll Need

Instructions

Step 1: Apply the Rub

Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Generously coat all sides with your chosen rub from the Best Selling Rubs Gift Box. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes (or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor).

Step 2: Grill Low and Slow

Preheat grill to medium heat (around 375°F). Place chicken skin-side down and grill for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally, until internal temperature reaches 155°F.

Step 3: Brush with Bourbon Honey Mustard

During the last 10 minutes of cooking, brush chicken generously with Bourbon Honey Mustard. Let it set and caramelize on the grill, flipping once.

Step 4: Finish with Hot Honey

In the final 2–3 minutes, drizzle Fiery Sweet Mesquite Hot Honey over the chicken. Watch for flare-ups — the honey will caramelize quickly. Pull chicken when it hits 165°F internal temp.

Step 5: Make the Cornbread

While the chicken rests, prepare the Sweet Honey Cornbread Mix according to package directions. Bake in a cast iron skillet for that golden, crispy edge. Drizzle with a little extra hot honey before serving.

Serve & Enjoy

Let the chicken rest 5 minutes before serving. Plate alongside warm cornbread and don't forget an extra drizzle of hot honey on the side. This is Wisconsin 26 summer — bold, curated, and made to share.
