Hannah’s Hot Buffalo Chicken Tater Tot Casserole
Share
Buffalo chicken, cheddar, and crispy tater tots make a straightforward, crowd-friendly casserole. Hannah’s Hot Buffalo Dip Mix brings the garlic, chipotle, blue cheese, and cheddar flavor, while celery adds the classic crunch of wing night.
Serves: 6
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 40 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 package (about 32 ounces) frozen tater tots
- 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 package Hannah’s Hot Buffalo Dip Mix & Cheese Ball Spices
- 2 celery ribs, finely diced
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar, divided
- 2 scallions, sliced, for serving
Directions
- Heat the oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, stir the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Mix in Hannah’s Hot Buffalo Dip Mix.
- Fold in the chicken, celery, and 1 cup of the cheddar. Spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the chicken mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar over the tots and bake another 8 to 10 minutes, until the tots are crisp and the casserole is hot throughout. If using leftover chicken, heat the center to 165°F.
- Rest for 5 minutes, scatter scallions over the top, and serve.
Easy shortcut: Rotisserie chicken makes this quick to assemble. For a milder casserole, use less of the seasoning mix and save the rest for another batch of dip.
