Golden Marry Me Chicken — The Turmeric Twist on the Recipe Everyone’s Obsessed With
Share
You’ve seen Marry Me Chicken everywhere — and for good reason. Creamy sun-dried tomato sauce, pan-seared chicken, a little heat, a lot of flavor. It’s the kind of dish that makes people stop and ask what is that smell.
This version adds Burlap & Barrel New Harvest Turmeric to the sauce, giving it a golden hue, a subtle floral warmth, and a wellness boost that the original never had. Same swoony, restaurant-quality result. A little more golden. A little more Wisconsin 26.
Golden Marry Me Chicken
Serves 4 | Ready in 35 minutes
Ingredients
- 1½ tsp Burlap & Barrel New Harvest Turmeric
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- Fresh basil to finish
Instructions
- Season chicken generously on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside — it will finish in the sauce.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic to the same pan and cook 1 minute. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes.
- Add turmeric, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Stir for 30 seconds to bloom the spices.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in Parmesan until smooth.
- Return chicken to the pan. Spoon sauce over the top. Simmer uncovered 10–12 minutes until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened.
- Finish with fresh basil. Serve over pasta, polenta, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
Why Burlap & Barrel New Harvest Turmeric?
Most turmeric tastes flat and slightly metallic — a background note you barely register. Burlap & Barrel’s New Harvest Turmeric is different: sweet, floral, and genuinely complex, grown in southern India using sustainable techniques. At 4% curcumin, it’s also one of the most potent you can buy. In this sauce, it adds warmth and gorgeous golden color without overpowering the cream.
Pro tip: Black pepper isn’t just tradition here — piperine in black pepper increases curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%. Don’t skip it.
