Bacon Jam Crostini & Charcuterie Bites

Bacon Jam Crostini & Charcuterie Bites

The Appetizer That Disappears First

Every charcuterie board has a star — and at Wisconsin 26, ours is always the Award Winning Bacon Jam. Sweet, smoky, deeply savory, and impossibly spreadable, it turns a simple crostini into something guests will ask about all night.

This recipe is our go-to for entertaining: minimal prep, maximum impact, and endlessly riffable depending on what's on your board.

What You'll Need

  • 1 jar Award Winning Bacon Jam
  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 oz cream cheese or brie, softened
  • Fresh thyme or chives, for garnish
  • Flaky sea salt, to finish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. Toast for 6-8 minutes until golden and crisp at the edges.
  3. Spread a thin layer of softened cream cheese or brie on each crostini.
  4. Top generously with Bacon Jam.
  5. Finish with fresh thyme or chives and a pinch of flaky sea salt. Serve immediately or at room temperature.

Build It Into a Board

These crostini shine even brighter as part of a full spread. Surround them with sliced cured meats, aged Wisconsin cheddar, whole grain mustard, and a handful of cornichons. The bacon jam acts as the anchor — rich and jammy against the brightness of pickles and the sharpness of aged cheese.

Make It Your Own

  • Swap the base: Try on thick-cut crackers or endive leaves for a gluten-free option.
  • Add heat: A thin slice of jalapeno under the bacon jam is a crowd-pleaser.
  • Go cheesy: Melted gruyere under the jam takes this into grilled territory.
